that make my mood lift so high
like a friend stopping to say gidday
to smile I don't even need to try
'cos storm clouds turn to blue sky
and raindrops turn to sunbeams
today becomes tomorrow's dreams
small things that make my day
that make my mood lift so high
a peewee bird that's in my yard
dines on whatever he can spy
searches high and low so hard
trusts me to come close nearby
so I can see right in his eye
I think he says "how are ye?"
that soothes my world for me
seeds springing from the ground
neighbors who say hooray-hello
shop people who smile around
calls from people that I know
ill spent dollars that return to grow
other drivers who show courtesy
these soothe my world for me
small things that make my day
that make my mood lift so high
sometimes why I cannot say
but not to know or even try
