my old motor car and me
  we have been together now
  a considerable time you see
  21 years to be exact and how
  I have let her run a wee bit down
  she needs a little bit of fixing up
  and I have been thinking awhile
  "oh I have the money".... yup
  so lets just get it done and smile
  so our relationship will survive

  but my lovely family-bless them
  have said she's no ones pride
  take her to the wreckers then
  and get yourself a new ride
  one has even taken me aside
  said "here is a nice ute to drive"
  so kind indeed I think 'just forget'
  I can do this thing and survive
  so today I took a screw driver set
  the plates to remove... you bet

  now I know screw drivers so diverse
  but when I started screwing right
  the bloody thing turned in reverse
  and fixed the plates more tight
  now I am a tad confused alright
  why it happened I have no clue
  so as I really have to kill this ride
  I googled how to screw
  and will try again tomorrow to abide
  to strip her of her name and pride

  that car and me the miles we have done
  at times to be free or simply for the fun
  or just to go and be my old car and me
  but when the grass grows to her axle
  her time will be past no hassle
  my old car and me will not do another run
